The purpose of FITCI's Mentoring Program is to link clients with volunteer members of the local community willing to share their successful experiences. A mentor is assigned to each FITCI client and actively meets with the client at least monthly to advise and consult on the client's progress towards a successful graduation.
FITCI's volunteers are seasoned entrepreneurs who have already started and operated a successful business within Frederick County. They have experience, wisdom, and influential contacts within a particular industry segment or functional specialty that may be invaluable to start-up companies.
FITCI's volunteers have specialties in functional areas such as manufacturing, marketing, human resource management, or finance or they may have more technologically or industry focused specialties such as Bio-defense research, pharmaceutical research, or software marketing. Mentors will be selected based upon the needs of the FITCI client as identified in the application process.
